About the Role
This role is the first point of contact for the Mayor and Elected Members and plays a key part in ensuring effective communication between their office, the community and the wider organisation. You will provide accurate and timely administrative support, including document preparation, records management and responding to enquiries with discretion and professionalism.

The role includes preparing and coordinating formal Council and Committee agendas and minutes within statutory timeframes, acting as Minute Secretary at meetings (including those held outside normal business hours), and maintaining records of Council decisions and actions. You will manage the Mayor’s calendar, coordinate Elected Members’ schedules, organise meetings, events and travel, and ensure all required documentation is prepared in advance.

About You
You are an experienced administrative professional with excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail. You have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience preparing agendas and taking formal minutes, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a confidential environment.

You are proficient with computer skills, able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team, and have a professional, friendly and adaptable approach. You also have comprehensive knowledge of administrative procedures, guidelines, practices, policies and activities applicable to an office and/or local government environment.

The ability to work additional hours, including evenings to attend Council and Committee meetings, is required.
