About the role This role involves landscaping and maintenance of Palmerston’s CBD and open space areas, including vegetation management, cleaning, minor infrastructure repairs, litter collection and graffiti removal.
You will operate and maintain vehicles, plant and equipment, support short-term Council projects and events, follow WHS requirements and Council procedures, record and report work, assist with traffic management, and work with the Supervisor to plan activities. Weekend work on a rotating roster and participation in natural disaster response may be required.
About you In this role, you will bring practical experience in landscape maintenance, including minor infrastructure works, soft landscaping, and a basic understanding of irrigation systems. You’re passionate about working outdoors and take pride in enhancing community spaces, demonstrating a positive, professional attitude and a strong team focus.
You are confident using Microsoft Office applications, have a general understanding of Council systems such as payroll, personnel, and training systems, understand WHS requirements, and have proven experience safely operating small plant and power tools.
