About the Role

Working with the Finance Manager, the role is responsible for providing support to our Finance Services department that contributes to the delivery of Palmerston Community Plan including:

  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • General Ledger Reconciliations
  • Provide administrative assistance within the Department and broader 

 

About you: 

Minimum qualification of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other relevant discipline, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. 

 Ability to interpret and apply policies and local government legislation.

 

Proven ability to contribute to an innovative and positive working environment through research that would lead to continuous improvement.

 

Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service, with the ability to identify operational problems or trends, question practices, and contribute to the implementation of appropriate solutions in an innovative and resourceful manner.

Knowledge and awareness of social, economic, environmental, cultural, and political issues impacting on programs and service delivey. 

 

Demonstrated high level of communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

 

Demonstrated experience working in a financial administrative role undertaking responsibilities relevant to this position is desirable. 

An ability to determine priorities, manage multiple demands and competing deadlines.

 

Experience with Microsoft Office and financial management systems   is highly desirable.

Proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
